The Cable Lumberjack exercise strengthens core muscles, shoulders, and back. The twisting motion enhances core strength, balance, stability, and body control.

Step-by-step instructions

Stand perpendicular to the cable machine, setting the pulley at the highest level.

Hold the cable attachment handle with both hands, which should be closest to the machine.

Step away from the cable machine to create some tension.

Twist your torso away from the cable machine while keeping your hands toward your chest and your feet firmly planted.

Return to your starting position in a controlled manner and repeat for the programmed number of reps.
