Stand up straight, holding the barbell with an overhand grip and your hands placed slightly narrower than shoulder-width apart.

Keep your feet shoulder-width apart and your knees slightly bent.

Begin by lifting the barbell up towards your chin. Your elbows should be higher than your wrists at all times.

Pause, then lower the barbell back down in a controlled manner.

Remember to keep your back straight throughout the exercise and avoid using your back to pull the weight up.
