Standing Hamstring Stretch

The Standing Hamstring Stretch is a simple but effective exercise for increasing flexibility in the hamstrings (back of the thighs). This stretch may also help to alleviate tightness in the low back area. The goal of the movement is to gently lengthen the hamstrings without straining.

Stand upright with your feet hip-width apart.

Bend at your hips and lower your hands towards your toes.

Try to keep your back flat, not rounded, while reaching down.

Hold for up to 30 seconds, feeling a stretch in the back of your thighs.

Rise up slowly and repeat for the programmed number of times.
